New beginnings

Hi, friends. It's been a minute since you have heard from me here. I've got ✨news✨ as they say.

First, today is my last day at the State Department after 15+ years. For now, anyway.

In 2009, I took an internship at State on a lark. I assumed I would hate it but that it would be an interesting experience and a good point on my resume. And yet, I kept getting drawn into new jobs. I loved the people I worked with, and I loved the complexity of the problems we worked on. But it's time.

I am taking the next few weeks off and spending it with my kids. I have a lot of writing to do, too, so you will likely see more from me than you have the last two months. If you have thoughts on what you think I should be doing next, just hit reply and let me know.

Second, you'll see this is coming from a new email address. I moved the email distribution from Hubspot over to Ghost. Part of this is to make list management easier. And part of it is teeing up some new, fun content. (You can get a sneak peek here.)
